Fixing Into Gypsum Walls
The most common installation failure we are called to repair is heavy joinery fixed into plasterboard with ordinary plugs. Wardrobes and wall-hung units need to be fixed into the metal studs behind the board, or into noggins installed for the purpose. Where a wall is being built for a known heavy fixing, we add backing plates during construction — it costs almost nothing then and cannot be added afterwards without opening the wall.

Built-in wardrobes cost approximately AED 1,200–2,600 per linear metre supplied and installed in 2026, depending on the door finish and internal fit-out. Installation only, where you supply the units, is quoted after a site measure.
Yes, but it must be fixed into the metal studs behind the board or into noggins added for the purpose — not into the plasterboard itself with ordinary plugs, which is the most common cause of wardrobes and wall units pulling away. If we are building the wall, we install backing plates at the planned fixing positions.
