Why Waterproofing Decides the Outcome
Most bathroom renovations we are called back to fix were tiled straight over old or missing waterproofing. Water then tracks into the adjoining room and shows as peeling paint on the far side of the wall, months later. We strip back to the slab, apply a full waterproof membrane with upstands, and water-test before tiling. It adds a day to the programme and prevents the most expensive failure in the job.
Moisture-resistant gypsum board is used for any bathroom ceiling. Standard board sags and stains within two to three years in UAE humidity.
